Re: Uckinghall zander

Thanks everyone. Wow, judging from Glen's experience, though, I wonder if I shouldn't go to one of the canals instead. 9 0ut of 10 blanks is tough if you're travelling a distance!

How big and prolific are the eels? And the rudd?

Uckinghall zander

I was thinking of trying to catch a zander from Uckinghall Pool, but have never fished this venue and also have never caught a zander over a pound! So would value advice.

I'll be coming a distance, so are my prospects reasonable? Is mid to late May a good time? And are the zander likely to be in the middle or in the margins?

Thanks

Reliable bream fishing

Hi
I am new to BAA, and a 'pleasure angler', ie not too serious. I'd love to catch a decent river bream, a 6 pounder would be great. But I am aware the problem with bream is it's either feast or famine, on many waters you have a series of blanks and then you find the shoal and get some huge weight. But I live at a distance, and so lots of trips would be difficult. I may be asking the impossible, but can anyone recommend a stretch where there's a reasonable probability on one trip of getting some bream?
Thanks
