Fladbury road closure.

Not sure if it was just for today (Monday} but access to Fladbury from the A44 was closed for resurfacing work in case you may be going. Went to Wood Norton instead.

Bag of rubbish left on the fence at Wood Norton, drinks cans, stinking bait etc, just like to say to the moron that left it, don't worry you pillock I took it away for you.

Re: CHEAP AS CHIPS TIP.

Thanks chaps, have to admit I saw the wedge for a platform on youtube, tried it and thought worth passing on.

CHEAP AS CHIPS TIP.

Do you ever find it a pain getting a rod rest in when fishing off a platform, particularly if it extends over the water. Try this, a bit Heath Robinson but it works, cut a wedge of wood and drill a hole in the top for your rod rest, just push it in the gap in the boards, about inch and a quarter wide at the top seems about right.

Also, but not so common, scaffold poles used for platforms, a piece of pipe insulation for 15mm water pipe is a snug fit inside these, [at least the ones I've used] stick your rest down the whole in the middle, you might need to pinch the foam to hold the rest firm, a bit of wire does the job, just leave it on foam. About 12'' will do.

Cost almost nil, weight next to nowt, takes up next to no room in your kit. Pics attached. smiling

Re: Lurkers!!

I wouldn't get too up tight about it, the fact that so many people keep looking would indicate they are interested in what is posted. I post my own twopenny worth from time to time but I don't necessarily expect a comment back, and sometimes comment on other peoples posts but a lack of replies doesn't necessarily mean someone else's post has no merit or interest.

It's unlikely I would reply to a post about the Severn for instance because I never fish it and probably wouldn't have a clue what I was talking about [ which is probably true most of the time for me] but the Avon I do have more knowledge and just may have something useful to say. Keep posting everyone be it a gripe a compliment, just banter or to get it off your chest, I for one read the forums most nights, including the match results for anything new. smiling .
