I notice there's a match at Handsacre on Sunday. Is there a chance that you could post the match results and what you catching.

Re: Handsacre

What a shame this fell on death ears, may be it should be compulsery for match results be enterd, This would help non club memebers know where is fishing.
Does anybody know how this stretch of the Trent is fishing. My previous visit 2 years ago was not good not even a bite and very few fishable pegs

Re: Handsacre

Won't get any match results from clubs if they dont have a member that post on here.

Even if the results were to be sent to the BAA as a condition of the booking do you think they would be getting them.

Re: Handsacre

Hi fellow d’anglers,
Like you I have hoped for more feedback from the clubs that book waters for contests.
I review the Waters booked for Contests and do post details as follows
Booked 16Oct - 14 Nov 2021
18 contests at 7 venues on the Avon
9 contests on 8 venues on the Severn
Handsacre on the Trent
Canals
Staffs - Worcs 10 contests
Birmingham - Worcester 5 contests
Fazeley 1 contest

TBF there are some Secretaries that do post results and methods but it could be better

Keep on Fishing

What you have to remember is that a lot of club secretaries probably don’t know this forum exists, the average age of most clubs now is 60+ and they probably don’t bother with things like forums and social media.

Re: Handsacre

Have to disagree with you there Stew, sorry mate. Think most people in their 60's are pretty computer and internet savvy these days.

65 myself and know my way around a keyboard no problem and I know lots of others in my age group the same.

Re: Handsacre

the trouble is you do not have to be members to book baa match. a lot of theses matches won't have any baa members fishing them.

Re: Handsacre

Love all the chat but this does not answer my original question. All I wanted to know was is Handsacre fishable. We have all read posts about how poor the pegs are and lack of fish. My guess is this match never went ahead. If it did then surely somebody must have caught someting.

Re: Handsacre

To be honest I think the whole feedback of information on this forum is poor compared to other club websites. Have no idea why that is but you only have to look at the topics posted, the number of views for those topic and the number of replies. The only time there is any kind of "discussion" is when people are arguing

Re: Handsacre

I thought you did have to hold a Baa card if you were fishing a match on baa waters??? Confused Our club states you must have a Baa card. Ive had a card for over 20 years now anyway.

As far as Handsacre is concerned Ive fished it 3 times now and the most ive caught is 2 perch and a roach.

Never fished it in the winter which I'm told is the best time to fish it. Not fished it this season.

You will get about 4 pegs in some of the locals fish it and there are a few pegs the depth is all on the inside it shallows up as you pass half way.

Last time I fished it a local came down with a bucket of corn hemp and meat and pre baited underneath a tree on the inside one peg above the power lines.( I was fishing the power lines) He was going to return for an evening session and told me he had been having some good chub. I asked him if any barbel came out and he said on the odd occasion.

Whoever had been fishing the cables before me had left a load of line capable of catching a shark in my opinion.
