I fished wasperton yesterday, drove out of venue at 19:10, mate was loading his car but there were probably 20 people who appeared to still fishing including someone who arrived at the venue around 18:30. when i fished it earlier this season i encountered a bailiff each time, nice guy, no nonsense but polite and helpful. Last night nothing so was there some rule for the last day of the season i do not know about?

Re: late fishing

No there is no separate rule for the last day of the season, the rule still is that you should be packed up and gone an hour after the official sunset time,so it does sound like they were breaking the rules.I can only guess that the bailiffs were busy elsewhere. As mentioned in previous discussions it's difficult for the the bailiffs to cover everywhere, especially on the last day of the season when it tends to be busier on the rivers.

Re: late fishing

bob rich perhaps you should concentrate on your own fishing , an not what others are doing an stop being a busy body .
if we as anglers leave no litter , no noise or damage an respect fish we catch an return them unharmed .
if you want to do something constructive keep an eye out for the ones that fish baa waters for free an roast the fish they catch !!!!!!!!!

Re: late fishing

I personally do not night fish BAA waters due fact im in other clubs that do allow it .
but I have no objection to people that do , an use common sense , after all if someone chooses to sit in the dark by river in peace an quiet , causes no problems at all . while your fast asleep in bed what is your problem . leave the specimen anglers alone , an if it really rattles your cage become a baliff an go an stop the anglers who hog roast the fish they catch without a licence or permit .!!!!

Re: late fishing

Fortunately, there are bailiffs around on some stretches that exercise common sense and let you fish on after dark if they know your face and realise you're not going to be a nuisance and leave rubbish etc. Some bailiffs do, some bailiffs don't. If they ask you to leave, then that's what you do.

As Ian has said, some anglers seem to get a bee in their bonnet about it for some reason, why I dont know, there's plenty of other anglers who create problems such as the ones Ian has mentioned.
