Looks very narrow and shallow in places doubt its been fished much yet. You say you did well Pete did you stay in one peg or roam as it looks more of a roamers river.

Above the weir it's quite deep, up to 8ft in places, and about 9-10metres wide. I've fished it once, but a while ago, there's some half decent chub there, plus roach.

I've not heard of barbel that far up the river though, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are there.

Hi,I'm local to the stour living in stourbridge so I've fished this stretch a lot, hate to say otters are on this stretch like a lot of the stour and the roach fishing is not what it used to be,far fewer fish than say 5years ago, best chub swims are below the weir roach, perch & hybrids above,
I have heard reports of barbel on this stretch so who knows?

Above the Weir i found closer to 11ft deep in patches Chub Roach and Perch was my lot and a possible barble in the pool at the base of the Weir but missed it twice .
