Anyone else get a ticket from National Trust for using the carpark at Hampton Loade, left bank?
I fished there the other day and was under the impression it is the BAA carpark labelled in the book and we didn't have to pay? I left my BAA booklet in my car window and proceeded up the river. When I returned I had a ticket from Dudmarston Hall and National Trust left on my wiper blades... ???
I took a photograph of the number on the gate and ticket machine and returned home. I gave them a call and informed them I was a BAA member and assumed it was the BAA carpark and I have never had a issue before when leaving my BAA booklet in the window. They informed me I should have scanned my membership on the ticket machine, or get a national trust membership card? I said, but if it free parking for BAA why do I need a national trust membership? The response was a bit mumbled, but to prevent this in future is what I could make out. Apparently, I'm not going to get fined. I guess I'll have to keep you all informed...
Is this normal for this carpark?

This is the information from the Where to Fish page on the Club Web page, you did what is expected of us BAA members.
Approaches
Hampton Loade Left Bank: from Kidderminster take A442 towards Bridgnorth, turn left off A442 onto road signed, Hampton Loade, P River Severn and Car Park (with National Trust logo), there is a wooden bus shelter on junction. Follow road down towards river and turn right into National Trust car park at ferry (NO FEE PAYABLE FOR BAA MEMBERS. MEMBERS ARE ADVISED TO IDENTIFY VEHICLES LEFT AS BAA IN ORDER TO AVOID A TICKET. BAA GUIDE BOOK OR CAR STICKERS SHOULD BE USED)
Please note: The car park access gate is not opened until 8.00am. and is locked again at 6.00pm.
For members wishing to access the car park before 8.00am (subject to BAA permitted fishing times) the code for the gate lock can be obtained, in advance, by calling the BAA office on 01562 882116. The lock code changes on the 1st of every month.
NO FISHING AT NIGHT.

Please contact BAA HQ at Hagley (John Williams 015562 882116 between 9:30am and 2pm Mon - Fri) to let him know what happened so he can contact the National Trust.

It's always been a bit of a mystery there with that car park. I believe sunset was always the time the NT used to lock the car park up, but the NT always used to decide what time sunset each day.
A shame really, as it's a nice stretch, in winter especially.

Why do you feel the need to comment when we as an association are trying to help a member that has had problem when parking. we are trying to help to resolve this matter.

All a bit prickly? The OP did give a very detailed account of the incident in fact Not sure more he could have added, very poor comment from Admin to me but to be expected from Barbel God T.W.A.T.
