Wishing Fellow D’anglers a Merry Christmas and a Tight Lines New Year.
As the weather has not been pleasant I had a mooch on You Tube and came across a very recently posted vid of approx 23 minutes, by JACOB LONDON CARPER.
“BARBEL FISHING ON A TINY LONDON RIVER”
it was about HIS 2 visits to fish for Barbel on the River Wandel in London! If only the River Tame was this clean and Prolific!
Maybe it is who knows?
But this lad Jacob, he catches some lovely Chub, Barbel and a Rainbow Trout from the Pavement on a street in London, amazing!!

Have had 40lb bags of fish on hemp and tares from the Tame, barbel to 8lb, seen barbel well into double figures, first match weight on there was 23lb 12oz to win the match.

That is good to know that the Tame is “Fishable” and good weights quoted in your reply.
Who’s water were you fishing in your contest?
and in your opinion should the BAA be looking at acquiring waters on the Tame?

If the Baa could get a stretch of the Tame they would get a very good fishery. Not only is it closer to me than the Avon or Severn it would widen BAA catchment area and it contains a huge variety of fish big and small.
Would be very interesting to know if it's even on the table.

the tame is stuffed with fish anywhere above the sewage farm at curdworth.

Won’t say where I was fishing but the BAA should be looking at a couple of stretches on The Tame.

Hello Copo1966,
All that I can suggest is that you drop John Williams a message letting him know who and where the BAA should contact in order to follow up on any potential waters that might be available to the BAA on the River Tame!

He is always a good watch, and and not your typical angling type being a ballet dancer. Love the urban fishing potential, I guess cutting my angling teeth in Bristol was the reason. The Wandle is a chalk stream as a good number of rivers in London are, and this river looks pristine. Not sure the trout was a trout but a Grayling?
Another good video is on BT sport if you can, the latest episode of On The Bank where they have a four hour match on the Hereford Town section of the Wye, stuffed with silver's and despite all the doom and gloom about pollution on the Wye there is great fishing still.to be had.
In winter town and city stretches can be good sport, just hoping for the weather to settle and hoping for a good few sessions before the close.

Many will not be aware that BAA offers a reward of £200 to any member who furnishes details and a lead to any potential new fishery, which is subsequently secured by the Association.

The Tame looks lovely at Hams hall by the bird watching place . Not sure you can fish along there but I’d give it a go . I saw an otter off that same bridge also . If any one has info on access to the Tame around Minworth or the coke I’d be grateful. I love a bit of the unknown.
