This normally prolific venue failed to live up to it's usual standard of weights, lots struggled to get bites, most weights were made up of bream, perch and the odd chub, roach were noticeable by their absence again.

Hi Ollie

Always nice to get a report (good or bad) from you.
With the boats at Hinksford Wharf (Br 38-39) probably being occupied more regularly now that Spring has truly sprung, noises inside the boats may seem nothing to us but can be distressing to the local fish population so they clear off elsewhere.
Personally I never fish by the boats in any case for another reason, that being that I have a weak bladder and what with there being an always busy road running close to the wharf as well as the chance of boats being occupied, I'd be fined for Flashing.smiling

Hi Ollie,
Thanks for your post on your catches.
I also look at the Canal & River Trust website as Steve Cope puts up a weekly Contest Report.
Interestingly a number of the contests last weekend posted low catches.

Spawning?

Keep on Fishing…

Thanks for the warning Ollie & Reg

I successfully avoided blanking yesterday afternoon at normally "prolific" Wolverley by scraping together 15oz of smallish perch & roach in a 5hr session.

The middle 2hrs was tsunami time with regular boat activity but with a boatless hour at the start and another in the last 2hrs I would have hoped to have done ok, but no.

6 boats, 6 bites and only 5 fish -doh!!

The biggest thing that I landed was an 18" section of a Car Tyre and I wouldn't have landed that without the aid of a No.14 hook on 2lb 10oz bottom.smiling
