Hi all

Had a nice bag of fish just above the inlet into Ashwood Marina on Saturday.

First fish was a Rudd, which made me laugh having had nothing else but Rudd on my previous session on Easter Sunday at Mythe Pool.

Although the photo only reveals Skimmers and perch, this 48 fish bag (yes, I'm a nerd, I log every fish for fun) was made up of 18 Skimmers, 14 Gudgeon, 6 small Perch, 2 small Roach, 2 Rudd & biggest surprise of all, 2 Danny Ruffe.

All caught on double red maggot over hemp, pole plonked down stream along the bank leaving my rig to trot round in an arc from Boat Swim to the near margin.

T'would be nice if Match reports included the odd photo too.

Keep fishingsmiling

Thank You Stew for providing us with a pretty detailed summary of your trip to the S/W canal.

To back it up with your photo is great for other anglers to give them the inspiration to get out there and have a go themselves.

Like you said, I do wish that there was a lot more feedback from the Contest Anglers / Clubs
There are / have been 26 Contests booked on Canals and Pools between 19th March - 01st May

Currently There is NO Requirement for the Clubs to provide their CONTEST RESULTS back to the Association?

I find this baffling as these “Statistics” would prove very revealing, especially as we are now involved in the investigation into the state of the “Water Quality” of our waterways and fisheries!

In the meantime to all our fellow D’Anglers,

Keep on Fishing.

Re: Individual (non match) report - Staff/Worcs below Bridge 37 & above

Hi again

No contest above the lock at Bridge 37 today (Sunday 1st May) so I parked at Greenforge again this afternoon and walked upstream this time.

Started at 1pm but a slow start, no bites until 2pm, then suddenly it was a bite a cast, boats allowing until 5pm. Only had one additional roach between 5pm & 6pm when it was time to pack up anyway.

Mostly skimmers again but out of the 9 that I caught, 4 of them were between 1lb and 1.1/2lb.

Hope that this gives you a further incite into what's catching between Bridges 36 & 38 on the Staffs/Worcs.

Another lovely day on water owned by the BAA.smiling

Hi again

I had intended to fish the Br40-42 Swindon section of the Staffs/Worcs yesterday in the hope of catching Chub, but unable to find a parking space I resorted to parking a mile downstream at Greenforge instead and fished Br37-38 Hinksford again

Blow me down if this mixed bag of Skimmers (to 1lb 5oz), small Perch, Roach, Gudgeon and Danny Ruffe, didn't also include a 2.1/2lb Chub.

Mission accomplished.

Keep fishingsmiling
