With our forgotten R. Stour fishery being discussed recently, I have attached a photo of what has been caught in the upstream spinney section there, where access is only available via the Staffy Tow Path. The photo includes Bream to 3lb-6oz, Chub to 2lb-10oz and Perch to 2lb-0oz, all caught on a maggot baited light paternoster rig loose feeding hemp and maggots in a 3 to 4 foot deep swim.

Cheers

A great catch of fish Stew.
Clean healthy fish. Two of those bream look to have a touch of roach in them?
A 2Ib perch from this water is a great catch. Water must be healthy.
Nice one smiling

A truly superb mixed catch of healthy looking fish Stew, that were caught by you from the Black Country Stour!

So looking at that healthy mixture of fish, it does bode well for the construction of that Fish Pass by the EA.

You never know, they might be catching Salmon in Stourbridge, a few years from now.

Keep on Fishing…..

As it happens, I failed to catch any of the fish that I was targeting, they being roach and dace.
Ironically, that'll probably be all that I catch the next time that I fish there (doh!).smiling
