Severn near Welshpool. Just got back from a recce trip to the Severn around Welshpool. Some great looking stretches noted for future days out, spotted a few fish moving when sat watching and will be returning next week with the rods. I cannot thank bailiff Mike Wood enough for the help and information provided to me over the phone whilst I was there,even though he was busy working on the banks. I am hoping to fish this water on Sunday if I can. I know the area well (including Abermule) but not too clued up with the Severn in the locality. I don't mind a good walk along the river as long as I know where I can go and where I can't regarding fishing rights etc. By the way, the guidebook will be very useful when fishing unfamiliar waters, nice job BAA. Aberbechan & Penarth Hi all, New to BAA but in my 55th year of freshwater angling, I have seen the stretch at Aberbechan as I pass through Welshpool - Newtown a fair few times each year. Basically, I want to catch grayling and chub, either on bait or fly gear and also a few trout on the fly. Any info or advice on this lovely looking stretch would be very welcome. Thanks, Colin.
