Re: Severn Stoke

Thanks for that much appreciated - I will take care. i wear running snow and ice cleats on my boots which helps a lot but i'll take your advice

when it does dry out what's the float fishing like and which way should I go from the car park - up or down?

Re: 2022 - What I would like it to bring, is more fishing feedback be it good or bad to help us all!

Good idea (although I'm guilty of not posting anything - just asking daft questions)

There does seem to be a recurring theme when I do actually look at the forum and that is the complaints about access to the waters we have - I don't mean actually getting along the bank, its more to do with the state of the pegs (or lack of them).

I'm too old to be hacking away like a jungle explorer and I guess other older members will be in the same boat. We have some lovely prime waters but they are only accessible in many cases to our younger more intrepid members.

I know its all about finance for anything major but the accessibility problem is a vicious circle - don't invest in the pegs and its difficult to attract members or in some cases lose them (that's a guess but I'm probably not far off the mark)

Before anyone accuses me of being a whinger - I've stuck with the BAA since i was a boy andIi'm 70 now so I have seen the changes and thought I'd chuck in my two pennorth

Just saying

Severn Stoke

Hi folks - hope you can help

I haven't fished Severn Stoke for years and i fancy giving it a go on the float for roach and whatever else - the parking is good which suits me. I'm knocking on a bit now - i'm fine with walking but prefer not to climb down too many steep banks) and I used to get good catches off the stones above the car park.

Which way should I go these days upstream or downstream - any recommendations?

Re: What's the benefit of 'hollow' over solid pole elastic?

Hi - its all about confidence as someone said. I never get hung up on all the tech specifications. I started using hollow elastic a while back now and its much more forgiving and stretchy than solid so because of that i use solid elastic down the edge for the bigger fish because of its pulling power but hollow for general fishing when im not quite sure what might turn up.

And at the end of the day as a mate of mine once said - you can have all the fancy rigs you like but if you don't feed properly you wont catch.

Re: No Pegs, Pensham and Nafford

Hi guys - i have been a member since i was old enough to need a card and i'm 69 now and i can't remember it ever being this bad.

Its a disgrace the way some of the fisheries have been left to get overgrown and unfishable. The card is still decent value but with such lovely stretches of river being paid for and unfishable its a crying shame

I'm sure at some stage i have heard people say 'well there are plenty of other BAA stretches you can go to so stop moaning' but in fact the number of fishable venues is diminishing so even that isnt entirely true any more.

The Teme is prime water and although the banks were challenging when i was a young man they arent challenging now - they are impossible unless you are into some serious climbing.

No point moaning - i can't see anything being done despite a pretty fair sized membership
