Re: What amount of bankside clearance/peg enhancement are members allowed to do?

A good question!
You're not the only one who would benefit from such knowledge and having stumbled on your post in December, it's disappointing you've had no answer so far. I'm going to post this note as a new message to see if someone can assist.
I recently tried the Trent at Handsacre but the pegs seemed to be suffering from a lack of attention which made the fishing unnecessarily difficult. The fact the stretch has a general reputation for being a bit 'hit and miss' probably accounts for my complete blank (that and talent) but it certainly felt a bit neglected.
Most swims had overgrown trees or bushes impacting the immediate downstream stretch which turned the pegs into 'bays'. It made trotting a float almost impossible unless you were prepared to chuck a Waggler into the strong flow in the middle. Even then, the trot was restricted by the angle towards the imposing growth and I'd be surprised if the general default method here wasn't ledgering as a consequence.
No-one (I think) wants to see bank sides completely cleared of any character but my early soundings as a new member are that the stretches near me in Staffordshire have potential but generally suffer from a lack of attention? It appears to me all the interest and focus is on everything west/south of Brum?
I too, would be happy to indulge some prudent housekeeping that would assist fishability and maintain natural integrity, but, like you, don't want to fall foul of any local or club restrictions.

Re: Mease at Netherseal

Thanks Jules and Neil for the responses. Very helpful.
Harlaston is a stretch I've fished as it's the most local to me and like you Jules, have had plenty of interest from smaller stuff but nothing of real note. A couple of 6/7 oz roach while trotting from under the big tree with the rope swing attached and the BAA sign on it were particularly pleasing.
A decent session a few weeks back brought some nice Dace and the perch are ever-greedy, but I've since spoken to a few locals and it seems that "water quality" smashed the bigger fish and the river here is only now recovering. Currently there appears to be plenty of small fish for a bit of fun which, while not necessarily mind-blowing right now, augers well for future years.
Here's hoping.
Thanks again.

Mease at Netherseal

As a new member, I've been checking out potential venues, one of which is the Mease at Netherseal.
Having followed the map instruction, I found there was no possible parking in the area by the bridge as suggested and the stretch itself, had a barbed wire fence about 4' high running along the bankside.
Am I missing something? From a parking perspective, it's fairly easy to park in the village and walk a little, but there seems no obvious access point to a stretch of water running through a farmer's field and defended close to the bankside by wire?
Also, a little further upstream there is parking and then a walk suggested just off the A444, but I could only find an open entrance that led to a field with no signage suggesting it's availability.
Walking a little is fine but I clearly don't want to do something I shouldn't - especially as a newbie - so any observations on options or stuff I may have missed, would be appreciated.
Thanks.
