Re: Doddenham stretch on the Teme

Cotheridge is fine now. Fences mended and dodgy gates removed.

Re: What do you want from the BAA

In my opinion the only thing that greatly increasing the card price will do is punish the less well off.
It's a slightly dubious comment to say that putting the price up might deter some of the folk that none of us want on the river. I.e. people with less money?
Let's find ways to raise the standard of the memberships anglers without alienating people with lower incomes.
I do understand it's a popular train of thought on this forum to put the ticket price up but it will not solve all the problems.
It will create others and the society will lose members whose only 'fault' is lack of money.

Re: Doddenham stretch on the Teme

Hello again, there are a couple of pegs up by the Broadwas stretch, I expect these are the ones you've fished. I had a decent chub from the upstream peg using Spam.
There is another peg halfway along the car park field. You have to walk pretty close to the edge of the river and you will see a stepladder down onto the riverbed. This peg is unfishable when the river is up, I admit. I had another good chub from here on pellet.
It really could do with a few more pegs sorting but I know the works parties are flat out.
All the best, and let me know if you have any luck.

Re: Doddenham stretch on the Teme

Ive fished Doddenham a few times and it's just as hard as Broadwas .
The only times Ive caught were literally just as it was getting dark, you really do have to push your 'one hour after sunset' to the limit.
Maybe this is something to do with the otters, although it is common on many waters to catch this late.
Good luck and stick in there.

Re: night fishing

I'm with Johnny on this one. If someone has gone to the trouble of purchasing a night permit then they are likely to be a responsible angler in my opinion.
It's just a shame it's such an unhelpful system to buy one.
I would love to go night fishing and would gladly pay a fee but why does the permit have to be so date specific? What happens if it pisses down with rain on the night you've paid for, or your kid is ill or your car breaks down etc? I think this puts a lot of potential night fishermen off from buying a permit. Why couldn't the permit be for a week? That would definitely give you a chance to go.
The system needs updating.
This new website and forum is a great addition, showing that the BAA is forward thinking, please carry on the good work and update the night fishing permit system too.
