Re: Night fishing and bad behavior at Fladbury

I'm afraid BarbelGod is talking of 'Geoff Collins' and not the infamous BS merchant that is 'Jeff Collins'.

Proof of the late Geoff prowess:-

Geoff was from Rushden, Northants, whereas 'Jeff' isn't. I can recall.

As 1LC says, 'Jeff' can catch barbel in sub-zero temps, double figure bream every session and huge carp. He could even brush aside the Himalayan Balsam blooms in mid-December, while the rest of us struggled in the winter mud.

Re: Mortimer and Whitehouse, Gone fishing .

I find the series just 'ok' to be honest, i think more non-anglers like it that actual anglers. For me, the finest ever series was a Passion for Angling back in 90/91. That series was magical, and really did capture the essence of being an angler. Catching the Impossible was also very good.

Re: Simon de Montfort bridge

Bicton and Montford Bridge are now run by Lymm Anglers, I think. I know a few Shrewsbury lads that fish those stretches.

Re: Simon de Montfort bridge

Blimey Reg!! That's an old BAA guide, I'd say from the late 70's. I remember my dad fishing Berrington and Cound Lodge, they had a few stretches up that way back then, Crew Green, Alberbury etc. Happy days.

Re: Simon de Montfort bridge

Simon de Montford bridge spans the Warwickshire Avon Reg, not the Severn. It's just downstream of the old 'Georges Field' section at Twyford, the BAA called it Parks Farm I think, and let it go a couple of seasons ago.
