Re: The Avon

It's low and clear at present, which is never good anyway on the WA, and the odd cooler night now pushing temps down to single figures. I believe that a lot of fish are shoaled up, I fished above the bridge last weekend and never had a touch, but on Friday, below the bridge I had five chub and a couple of barbel.

A match at Pershore was won with a runaway 74lb on Saturday, which proves the shoaled up theory. Some rain might improve matters.

Re: Teme Barbel double

Blimey, what a result that is. Hats off from me. Better than I've managed from more prolific waters this last week anyway.

Re: River Mease - Harlaston - 1 mile of water to stalk but take a machete to cut to Overgrowth

The Mease, used to be lovely there, I've not been in 30 years. I believe it's suffered with pollution problems since those days, and predation also. Shame really - it would have made for good barbel river in places, some did move up from the Trent, but I doubt any are there these days. Used to have some clonking chub in it though!

Re: Avian Flu is affecting Swans on the River Avon - BBC Local News

I saw a dead one come floating down the L.Sev at the weekend. A few other of the LS crowd have seen dead swans also.

Re: River Wye Pollution - TV News 21/10/21

....and last night, Boris Johnson, and 264 of his fellow capitalist scumbags, voted against an amendment in law to stop water companies dumping raw sewage into our rivers. The problem isn't going away anytime soon, given our society seems to consider trousering a few quid more important than absolutely everything else, including the environment.
