Re: coppiceGUR... Went last Thursday [18th] I don't specifically fish for the carp these days, though I have had god knows how many out of there over the last few years, but had one rod out for carp or whatever swims past, and one float rod to keep me awake. Fished the car park bank and had dozens of small perch, which was quite unusual, to the point where they were a pest, and a few small roach. Three nice perch came early on, the best probably near 2lb and a decent skimmer but after that all tiddlers. I can't quite explain it but I feel it has changed there, different atmosphere and the catch has changed so I don't go so often these days.

Re: A LITTLE TIP.Cheers Belsh. May be useful one day if you have to re-rig on the bank and you have run out of new ones.

A LITTLE TIP.A USEFUL TIP... although they are cheap to buy, if you are cutting line off and want to re-use the Drennan type float/grippa stops that may be attached, just tie your line to the loop they came off, a single knot will do, and slide them back onto the loop. Quick and easy to do.

Re: Stubbs poolIt used to be a favourite venue of mine, loads of carp with some going into the twenties but after it was flooded when the Avon went over its banks a few years ago it was never the same.

Re: Quieter Avon stretchThere's Marlcliffe, turn right at the sharp bend in village and follow your nose down track to the river. Easy parking. For barbel I think most blokes go downstream towards the weir, though not many pegs that way I don't think. I have had barbel from the pegs right next to the car park but usually go upstream a bit towards Bidford.
