NO fish ..canal been drained.

Fished Worcester - Birmingham canal last week, Astwood Lane (bridge 40 I think) Birmingham side. where you park in small layby with houses opposite with long drives. Spent 2 hours there to be told by someone passing the section had been drained for lock repairs and all the fish moved elsewhere, they only refilled it 2 days before I went, minus the fish of course. Just in case you thought of going there. Ah well, at least it was a sunny day.

Re: Barbel

Hi Paul, I don't particularly fish for Barbel, or anything else for that matter, just take whatever swims past but Fladbury, Marlcliffe and Pershore on the Avon have all produced some nice fish in the past, usually 3 to 6 pounds on meat. I have done 3 short trips to Marlcliffe i.e. a couple of hours or so in the last couple of weeks with some worms and haven't had a bite, would have been happy with a couple of Perch. Needs to warm up. Good luck if you go out.

Re: More Electro Fishing of Canals where BAA have waters - 08th Nov-2021

As I fish the B'ham / Worcester canal what are they taking out, I assume zander, not that I have ever caught one. I hope for every fish they take out they put one back in.
