problem at mo is high pressure. 1032mb and that`s not good. not saying you cant catch but it makes it a bit harder.
i would say try Fladbury as well known for barbel. it gets rammed in summer but not too bad in winter plus always a chub or too .
i would also used a meat bait. spam. pepperoni, meatballs. and not bother with any halibut pellets. or make a cheese paste. blue cheese tops for chub...
and as for Nafford... its always been Naff for me . iv never had anything down there but never give up
