sadly due to a new work pattern i have had to stand down as match secretary. i have to work saturdays from now on, totally out of my hands. i still have 18 months left until i retire otherwise i would leave but i still have bills to pay. i have spoken to reg who will be taking over from me. i have posted match permits etc to him and he has agreed to stand in for me. i wish you all the best in the future, your a great bunch of lads and if there is anyway i can get out of a saturday shift i will come along and join you, all the best, keith.

Well I'll be blowed, its a sad day for us D'Anglers Keith, I was just getting used to your p*** taking too.

You will be missed and understand your predicament.

Reg is a good choice as your successor.

Re: d'anglers a.c.

That is sad news Keith, just as we were getting into our stride, you did a great job and put a lot of effort into getting everything under way.

Unfortunately work gets in the way of lots of stuff, I could/should have retired last year. But can't really afford to, so I'm still at it full time.

Well done to Reg for picking up the baton. Shout if you need any support, I'm sure there'll be help if you need it.

Keep on fishing!

Re: d'anglers a.c.

Sorry to read you have had to retire from your position after all your efforts Keith.
At least with all the dates booked we know where we stand up until the last match.
I am sure we will bump into you in the future , at matches or otherwise.
Once again thank you for your effort in helping to form the club and organise matches.
All the best for the future.
David and Brian.

Re: d'anglers a.c. - big shoes to fill, but we must keep on fishing

Hello all fellow d’anglers,
When Keith rang me this morning with the news that has affected his job and his leisure time
so severely, it came as a shock that Keith wanted me to help in the running of “our fishing club”, this band of merry d’anglers!
Reading the replies that some of you have already posted, then I may well ask for some assistance.

As I write this, I know that Keith has put in the post to me the documents that I shall need to make contact with you, and the permits required for the Contests that we have for the remainder of the Season.

Our next Contest is just over Four Weeks away, 16th September at Ladyham.

I shall put up a post soon to collect the names of our d’anglers that want to fish this contest on “running water”

In the meantime
Keep on Fishing….

PS Keith, there is always a Peg for You.

Re: d'anglers a.c.

You've got a dirty mind Charlie. Us old'ns know that "I'll be blowed" is a polite way of saying "oil beef hooked".

You've mentioned a peg for Keith in the future Reg, which raises the point that up until now, Keith has supplied the numbered peg markers, draw tokens and scales to date.

Any ideas where we can get hold of some or do any of us other D'Anglers have some lying about?

Hi Stew,
At this present time
I have digital hand scales, but need to ask what do we have collectively within our group of d’anglers?

As we must

Hi Keith,

Really sorry you've had to call a halt to being our secretary. You've done a sterling job setting up the club and arranging this seasons matches as well as our 1st one at Wolverley. A big thank you for doing that.

This should only be seen as a temporary halt though and hopefully, you'll be back in 18 months.

In the meantime, with your change of work patterns you can enjoy the midweek fishing when it's a bit quieter smiling

Au Revoir

Alan

Re: d'anglers a.c.

Well fuxk me that's possibly the worst news iv heard this year. having been a club fisherman for 50 years iv seen it all and fully appreciate the amount of time and effort that is required to organize and run a club , Recruitments..Booking ..Weighing ..Pegging the whole nine yards...something you achived in what seemed like the blink of an eye, and for that mate i really commend you.. STERLING WORK..
i feel gutted for you keith . YOU and you alone built this club and can no longer be part of it in person . that's a big shame and i speak for myself and im sure all of the newly dandlers that you will be missed on the bank ..
As for handing you baggage down to Reg , i think is another act of genius , as im sure he will step up to the mantle perfectly ...

REG
i will gladly be at the next match bright and early (Ladyham 16th sept)
i have everything we need for a social get together.
Bank Pegs
Draw Pegs
Weigh sling
Scales
Its all at your disposal ( IF NEEDED)

KEITH

THANK YOU _ THANK YOU For all you did to make this happen....
i hope to see you soon , but if not 18 months it will have to be...
stay well my friend

That's brilliant BIN that you've got all the necessary kit.

I'm sure Reg will take up your offer.

Hoping I can make it to Ladyham, I've got a surgical procedure booked in for about 10 days before that. If the recovery goes to plan I should be fine.

Keep on fishing!

Hi my fellow d’anglers,
Bin you are a saviour, yes please to your most generous offer to provide us with the “Tools” to do the job.

The words that you have put down in your post about Keith is SPOT ON!

All being well within 2 years Keith will be back amongst us, in the meantime, I have informed BAA HQ of the change and I sincerely hope that with a combined effort we can all enjoy our growing camaraderie combined with our fishing contests.

Till we meet at Ladyham on the 16th September

Keep on Fishing…

Re: d'anglers a.c. - Ladyham routes from surrounding roads to the lane

Hello Fellow D’anglers,

I have been looking at the Google Earth Maps for the roads leading to Ladyham and the Lane down to the BAA Waters.

I will probably have to post 3 separate images

I hope that this may help you all - Image 1 Overview

Re: d'anglers a.c.

Hi Keith.

Looks like you can rest easy now in the knowledge that the BAA D'Anglers will carry on smoothly during your temporary absence. As always, we will continue to enjoy ourselves even when the fishing spoils a good day out'

Thanks Reg for the Google images. I have added an edited image of an OS Map indicating the Woodfield Lane route suggested in the BAA Handbook etc.
There has been an addition to your (2 of 3) IMG_2397.jpeg image since Google created that image, that being a newer BAA sign on the telegraph pole to the right of the track entrance which is easier to spot.

Thanks BIN for just being there.

Every Lidl helps.

Keep on fishing Keith and let us know how you get on in your Sunday matchessmiling

Re: d'anglers a.c. - the app - what3words

Hello Fellow Forum D’anglers,
I have just seen that baa admin have added a post that recommends the download of the app
what3words as this is a very accurate positioning system that the rescue services are using.

The 3 words that will put us on the entrance to the BAA Track at Ladyham are:

survey.samplers.deep

I shall download it as I do not have it at present

Keep on Fishing…
