Like the subject says , I'm going fishing... IV done the decent thing and checked the booked waters page and this coming Saturday 25/11/2023 no matches on the staffy cut.. so im off to THE LOCK INN.. ,, i don't fancy a missive walk so I'm going above the lock and just past the sand stone wall till i find the first peg with a feature to fish too..
My approach will be liquidized bread and punch on the far shelf (ROACH) ,, ill plumb up and find the deepest part of the track to fish chopped worm and casters ( ANY BONUS FISH)and a topkit line to the left or right ( front shelf ) with fluro pinkies.... hoping for anything that swims..
Good or bad ill take a pic of my final net and let you know how i got on...

As always each and everyone of the BAA members are welcome to join me .

Wolverley S/W canal bridge 20 (lock inn) 25/11/23
and it geos without saying a couple of light refreshments after in the pub

Re: im going fishing

Ok Bin, you've twisted my arm, but I don't do early starts for pleasure fishing.

I'll catch up with you between 9 and 10 latest.

If you fish just passed the sandstone, its deeper there than a couple of boat lengths higher up, also folk who walk the tow path say that there's a big shoal of chub that hang about by the sandstone.

The last time I fished that section I walked higher up than before and it proved to be shallower than just above the sandstone. Despite catching over 40 fish, they were a mix of McDonalds French Fry sized Gudgeon, anchovy sized Roach and Pilchard sized Perch, nothing decent like a few weeks earlier when I'd fished just beyond the sandstone. The scales held at 2lb 10oz and that was a warm, sunny September day.

I'll test out my new tip section.

Re: im going fishing

I ll settle for some deeper water , if the temperature is going to drop.. maybe the fish will hold down there.

We will see..
