Hey guys,
I have recently joined BAA and have been super excited to start fishing the waters.
I fished the EA Stretch at Upton for a number of days, using a variety of lures aiming for pike.
I wasn't able to get any bites, and I have experienced the same as I have started fishing the BAA stretch at Ripple. I am yet to catch anything in the Severn unfortunately!
Is this common or could it be totally because of my technique? If anyone has any tips, I would love to hear them, either in this forum post or through a private message. Just looking for my first Severn Pike!

May I just say ..I’m not a pike fisherman....but you have no other reply’s.....shame really as I know someone on here would know......but this is what I’ve got....the last time I fished blackstone .3 weeks ago I was pestered with pike only small but 3 or 4 times....I fished Grimley and it never happened to me but 3 people moaned about pike in the peg....as for the Severn that’s as mush as I know... if you just want a pike as opposed to a Severn Pike try the Avon it’s full of them....bidford ,,welford,,,Barton,,,wasperton,,,, Evesham,,fladbury....anywhere really on the Avon they are prolific at the moment...but as for the Severn I only know where I’ve been recently....I hope a predator angler adds too this post to shine a bit more light on it .....sorry I Carnot help more........good luck anyway......

I rarely get to fish the river that low down but weedy bays fished with a moss-boss or similar weedless lure is often good for a few fish.
Spinner baits hard up against overhanging trees are also worth a shot.
That said, the middle Severn has been hammered by poachers and the same may be true lower down.
I've done a bit better on the Avon in recent years, but for obvious reasons, I'm not going to name venues.

Cant comment on the Severn but the Avon is stuffed with pike and big pearch at the moment. Pershore rb we were plagued with pike along with Fladbury bellow the bridge.
