Re: Trimpley

I talked to one of the engineers on the project back in July. He said the EA/Severn Trent were worried that the Severn would erode the foundations of the reservoirs. Hence reinforcing the banks with 23,000 tons of rock. Of course, planting trees would have been a much better solution ... No mention of how this would affect access to the actual river in the future sad

Re: River Teme fishing

There are swims you could fish the float but most are quite shallow, or rather, the best swims are those that go from 2/3ft deep to 1ft deep. The fish feed on the "slope", so ledgering tends to works best. You also find the fish will come to you if you cast by overhangs, the float can go by too fast.
Whatever you try there are some great looking swims, especially in the wooded part (about 300 yards upstream of the second bend).

Stanford Bridge on the Teme has a couple of excellent float pegs with long, deep (upto 5ft) runs.

Re: River Teme fishing

I fished Broadwas and Bransford quite a bit last season. Broadwas is generally shallow but anywhere that looks fishy probably has fish in it. Chub are the main species in the stretch and can be readily caught on sweetcorn or luncheon meat - s12 to s16 barbless hooks, 2ft trail, small swim feeder (you won't be casting far). Don't bother with smaller baits as both stretches are full of minnows.

Re: Cotheridge update?

Fantastic news. Well done to all concerned in sorting this - it cannot have been easy. Much appreciated and lets hope the fishing is worth it!
