Canal fishing towards Fazley and Tamworth

Does anyone do much Canal fishing on our stretch of the Birmingham/Fazley canel?
Be interested to find out how it fishes, and some parking details to get to the canal.
I'm in the Kingsbury AC and they have the canal from where our waters end but not fished any of it yet

Re: First Grayling

Hi Floatmaker

If you've spoken to Mike Woods the upper Severn Bailiff then you probably have all the information you want, smashing bloke, very helpful.

I love trotting and have had some lovely days catching grayling from the upper Severn. Nothing massive, 1lb 4oz my biggest to date but plenty of fish around the Welshpool area and above.
And, like its already been mentioned, travel light and cover as much water as possible. You'll find some pegs devoid of fish and others where its a bite every run through.

ps......the floats look great.

Re: Change Stiles to Kissing Gates?

The problem I can see is cost. We own/lease probably over 100 miles of river. How many styles are there on our stretches? who decides which ones are changed? Just out of interest how much is the one pictured?

Re: Catching much?

I fish the upper Severn quite regular just below the confluence with the River Vyrnwy. When they let excess water out of Lake Vyrnwy the Severn has a horrible red/brown tinge to it. Its the kiss of death to the fishing, even smaller species like dace and chub. The colour has all but gone once it flows past Shrewsbury so I expect Bridgenorth to fish a lot better. My most productive days (not barbel as I prefer trotting for the smaller species) have come from our waters above the Vyrnwy
