Went to Fladbury this week and caught lots of small fish on the stick float.
First time I have been there since the new platforms were built.
Nice to see the increase in size which makes it less of a ''balancing-act'' and much safer when there is a need to get off the creel.
The height of the ones I saw were about as high as they need be.
All-in-all a great job but I do have one small criticism.
Why are there gaps between the planks on the actual platform?
Drop something and there is a good chance, you will not see it again, even something as large as a penknife could go through and be lost.
We all drop things when out fishing, plumb bobs, disgorgers etc, so surely it makes sense to have a solid platform?

Government decides fishing is OK to do!
So you doubters, I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG.
Just took them a while to see common sense.

The last report about BAA membership I saw, there were over 12,000 and rising with over 200 miles of water.
When you look at the Prince Albert fees, it proves what good value our own BAA is.
They are as follows
£130 per year plus £100 joining fee.
Pensioners after five years membership get a £40 reduction.

For something to do I for my sins have been reading the rules and regulations.
The BAA state that all fish should be returned.
Below I have pasted what it says on the Canal and River Trust website.
Can I return a zander to the canal?
As the law stands, it is illegal to return a zander or any other non-native fish species to the canal network. This is set out in the terms and conditions of our KIFR permits.
You are allowed to take zander and other fish species classified by DEFRA as non-native for the pot.
Is the BAA rule legal?

Worrying times for the tackle trade!
Will we have our local fishing tackle shop when all this starts to get back to normal?
