Re: Catching much?I've fished the Severn three times since the start of the season.Ive caught chub and only one barbel about 6lb on meat late in the day,So maybe if your after barbel give the pellets and boilies a miss and fish a decent piece of meat.

Re: Catching much?Yeah no doubt its more difficult than usual to catch barbel at the moment.l think the winter floods have a lot to do with it,just my opinion.We all know that barbel numbers have dropped over a good number of years.I hope it will improve with the days getting shorter and colder.

Re: Streamer weedI hope so mate with the extra water coming down.But as you mentioned before the leaves will be the next problem.So as long as the streamer weed has gone.I will be happy were see.

Streamer weedIs anyone else having the same problem as me fishing the Severn.The problem being loads of streamer weed coming down the river. Making it very hard going fishing a lead all a feeder.You expect a bit of weed but the amount coming down now is just stupid.Might have to leave the Severn for a while and fish the Avon.
