Re: Birmingham-Worcester canal, Grange Lane, Alvechurch Probably been three years since i've fished it, much as said canal roach and perch is all I had plus I think a couple of gudgeon. Fished it early in the year around now, during river closed season, water still cold, water clear. Not too deep. Went mainly for the decent access. Can't remember exactly Rick, think Sep/Oct.

Not this time of year, but could that be because we don't try it ? I have done it once with white frost on the ground elsewhere on the Avon.
