Re: Bins Bins

now there's a question... firstly if it was the secret service would you expect me to tell you ??? after all the names in the answer..

2nd , if i could see all women naked would you be up too buying a pair ??

3rd ( the real reason) IM BLIND....really i am ....iv no vision at all in my left eye and iv lost 35% of vision in my right eye...So to be honest i wouldn't of noticed you staring at me unless you was over 15foot away. people who are by me are just a blur.... the glasses are normal but the blue tinge you saw which is only on the right eye ( pointless doing anything with the left , as it dont work ) might as well put a pickled egg in that frame.. the blue tinge is a strip of magnification that i put on myself just so i can catch my line and put my bait on...
If you want to gaze into my eyes further at least have the decency to offer to buy me lunch..as im not that type of guy ... but you will notice the left eye is a perfect mirror image of the right as its a silicone photo..
when im not fishing i wear black glasses..
so now you know.

GLAUCOMA who would want that

Eagle & Sun

Well after yesterdays day out and the otter story i blanked ( you can see that on the match fishing page) not being too down trodden i was out again today only this time i went to a stretch iv had good results from in the past..Eagle and Sun br35..never lets you down...not what i expected though .. no skimmers no roach luckily the perch were willing to play ... i didnt have loads 15 in total for about 3 lb max..... at 10 oclock a load of cars turned up and a ladies paddle board team got out ..now heres a thing i didnt know they have to be inflated (im on about the boards not the ladies in my life) so that was a bit noisy with all the plug in compressors going.13 of them .. but it didnt affect me at all ,, in fact they were very nice and said they will walk down a bit as to not disturb my fishing ... it wasnt the nicest day although it didn't rain it was a bit foggy and the fog was very wet.. i was soaked through by midday.. when i left i went to bridge42,,, 2 blokes fishing had only perch... after that i want to bridge 43 ..4 blokes there had only perch also.
so iv no idea why that was just one of those days i suppose

ANYWAY keep smiling ..

Re: Roach fishing - Staffs-Worcs Canal

Well what can i say ..as Reg said we 4 rolled up with good intentions...me being a lazy sod i stopped at the first fishable peg and what a peg it was as it looked lovely.. a boat on the far side and even a hand made duck house perched in the far bank reed beds ,Perfect spot . i plumbed it up 3 lines top kit ..down the track and even 1 over next to the duck house.. to say i was optimistic was a understatement.. now 1 hour in i hadn't had a bite (nothing) not even a twitch.. It was as if the canal was dead , not a breath of wind not a ripple even all the surface leaves were stationary it really was like looking at a postcard... well trying not to be beaten i got my head down and cracked on.. still nothing.it got to the stage that i was lost ,, i ran out of ideas and didn't know what to do next...take a break have a walk to see how the chaps are doing... well while i was chatting to Reg and co 2 blokes 2 wives and 2 dogs appeared on the tow path behind my peg took their phones out and started filming the boat opposite..well there it was running the full length of the boat .. i want back and said what you filming ?? One bloke and his wife said the otter over there THEY live in that little wooden house in the reeds ... i only seen 1 but by all accounts 2 live in the duck house...
Not my best moment sitting for several hours with my float dotted down hard against a OTTER house.(wondering why i carnt get a bite).. so i did what any respectable fisherman would do ... chucked my gear back in the van and went to the pub..

one good thing that came from that day was seeing how much the lads were laughing at me ...PRICELESS....
who needs enemies right....lol

Re: Roach fishing - Staffs-Worcs Canal

Mick,,, casters will always bring you better roach if you can get them feeding on them.. as you say it seems that at late the tiny roach have been showing but has you know them tiny roach have been bred in the canal within the last 12 months,, meaning the parent (bigger) fish are still in there . now when you say stop fishing the pinkies and switch to casters, then YES its the thing to do to target bigger roach maybe less of them but defiantly better quality.. especially in the winter months.
I had a few decent roach last week on the bham/ wor cut , 6 to 8oz. but that was on the punch bread..
what iv found in the past is i have to force myself to fish one bait by simply only take 1 bait with me so I'm not tempted to switch and casters is a great example of that .. you'll be surprised that the fish will feed if there is nothing else for them to be tempted with...
I'm fishing with a couple of the danglers on Saturday and i intend to fish the caster on 1 line to see if it does that very thing..
ill let you know if I'm successful or not..
