Re: Swift-Evesham

It;s deep and holds some bream and roach.
That said, I would not rate it too highly on my list of must go to venues. I fished it last year and blanked, albeit float fishing, and not feeder.
It is quite an open area but flat.
I cannot comment on the traveller point as they weren't there when I last fished it.

Evesham - Common Road

Does anybody know if access and car parking is now clear?
The last time I tried to get there, the track past the scrap yard was rutted and overgrown and the car park itself was a bit of a jungle.
Hopefully it's now accessible as the fishing there can be very good.

Re: Nafford (Above Weir)

You have to walk from the car park along the road and past the house next to the weir. There is a track just along from the house which will give you access.
A decent trek if you are weighed down with gear, and I am unsure whether or not it has proper pegs with platforms.

Re: Stick advice

A number of things that might be contributing to missing bites.
1) Hook size ideally needs to be 16.
2) The tares needs to be of a medium hardness as too soft means the fish can easily nick them off the hook
3) Drop shots may need to be bulked together, as single shops can give false bites.
4) Feed little and often with the hemp and just a couple or so tares.

These are only my way of fishing and others may do it another way. I would like to add that I fished Pensham 2 weeks ago and weighed 15lb of roach in a 6 hours session. It took 3 hours to get the roach feeding, but it then went crazy!

P.S. I always tend to bulk shot about 18 inches from the hook with 2 x no.8 droppers bulked

My first pike

Fished Fladbury today and landed my first ever pike in over 40 years of fishing.
Caught on the stick float/ maggot and lip hooked. Main line 3lb with 1.1/2 lb bottom to size 20 barbless.
The fish was probably 4 or 5lbs - not too sure to be honest but it was about 30 inches in length.
I released it a few pegs further down stream.
Chuffed to bits about this catch as I have had numerous ones on in the past but never landed one!
