Middle Severn Barbel

One of three barbel all over 7lb caught on caster and hemp from above Bewdley.Had to curtail session as rain stopped play - absolutely drenched! Shame as suspect large shoal of fish present.I'll be back! Water extremely low and clear so pleased with result.Lost one larger fish which completely bent my Drennan Specialist hook.

Re: Stacklands new pegs

Why is it members insist on driving to their pegs when the car park is so close? They should try Trimpley - that is a walk! Great news on the new pegs.

Re: Stacklands (Wye) Parking

Fished this eve and found bailiff very approachable.I think it is good that this fishery is being monitered closely - it's a real bonus having a water of this quality ( I managed one barbel of about 5lb).Wish I could say the same about Cotheridge - gate still an issue and landowners driving up and down bank with radio blaring and kids and dogs running amok.Won't bother to go there for some time.Shame, as it's a nice stretch.

Re: Cotheridge Teme

Haven't been for a while now to Cotheridge - wondered if anyone has been since the gate problem has been addressed. Fished Bransford on Wed and I've never known it so overgrown - Himalayan Balsam is way out of control and few swims fishable. However, managed a lovely trout of about pound and half and plenty of chub up to 3lb. Water was extremely clear and float fished with caster on size 20. My advice is look for the deeper areas close to faster water. If you can see the fish, they can see you! No barbel showing unfortunately.
