Re: Stacklands access

Padlocks both sides.I think the one on the left may have been coded.I wonder what terrible crime has been committed this time?

Stacklands access

Unable to open gate today as it was padlocked on both sides. Any reason for this? Parked outside fishery on verge and climbed gate, which isn't ideal. After a drive from Gloucester wasn't keen to abandon trip.

Re: What do you want from the BAA

I do think that some BAA officials take their time to read these forums and hopefully they take on board some of the thoughts/opinions. Stacklands as you say, is a definite example of this.

Re: Stacklands - How is the Fishing?

I have found the the conditions this season quite frustrating where river fishing is concerned. We don't appear to have had any sustained period of rainfall and rivers seem to be on their bare bones for long periods of time. I fished the middle Severn at the weekend and blanked on a swim, along with a mate, which has always produced fish in previous visits ( yes we did try extremely long hook links and caster/hemp). Last successful trip at Stacklands was with a bit of water and colour - eventually we will surely get some rainfall and fishing will improve!

Re: What do you want from the BAA

Disagree particularly with your easy access point. Some of us don't mind a walk and try to travel light - some guy moaned at me at Stacklands last week for being asked to move his car by the entrance gate as it was such a long walk to his peg by the footbridge - he was under 40! Stretches such as Trimpley are worth the effort and should definitely remain in my view. Obviously when I'm a little older I'll appreciate the easier access venues.
