Re: Stacklands in the news again!

I have noticed that there is now a speeding warning on the "Where to Fish" page too. Let's hope the locals practise what they preach. I have been overtaken by some complete "nutters" on the Hoarwithy Rd.

Re: Stacklands in the news again!

I think it was the item on "speeding" that provoked my initial comments. Obviously there are various views on this issue, most of them supporting the good work that the BAA are obviously doing. Perhaps I was having an "off day" and I hope I can continue to enjoy the great fishing on this lovely stretch.
I agree that £40 a year is a snip for this amount of fishing and I realise that bailiffs do the job voluntarily and commend them for their time and effort.

It was a BAA bailiff, which I certainly wouldn't normally have a problem with.I just feel our every move is scrutinised.Perhaps we all need to enrol on a 'Fishing awareness' course!

Unfortunately I suspect you are correct. Out of towners not appreciated, particularly with a Midlands accent!

Stacklands in the news again!

Now the local residents, not just the farmer are up in arms against BAA members. Can any other fishery claim to court so much attention? Perhaps we should all carry salmon rods and wear tweeds - then we might be left in peace! I was even asked twice for my BAA license on Saturday - no problem, but I was wading and halfway across the river on the 2nd occasion. Car number plates were also recorded - not quite sure legally how the BAA stand on that one. It would be lovely to think some of our poorer cousins, such as the Teme at Cotheridge and Bransford were subject to such close attention. My point is, it's beginning to spoil my enjoyment of this beautiful fishery.
