Winner had an 11lb 8oz barbel and lost another.
Getting from the car park to the river was difficult as the field had been churned up by farm vehicles and cattle and very muddy.

It's not leased, we own the fishing rights.

The gate was locked by the farmer as the field is very muddy to prevent vehicles getting stuck.
I have put a note on the website home page to let members know.

Hi Lawrie,
The Fisheries Team gave Newhalls Maedow a good haircut 3 months ago on 3rd August and cut back the overhanging branches as far as we could with our long tree lopping saws. Also as you will see from the pictures I took on that visit and updated Newhalls Meadow 'Where to fish' page with them, that 3 pegs are blocked with large fallen trees. These have been reported to the EA , but as they are not blocking navigation are unlikely to be dealt with.
We visited Newhalls again yesterday (Wednesday 4th November), burned the timer we cut back in August and did further timber cut backs where we could.
We are planning to re-visit on a nice cold crisp day in winter when the river is low to have a go a removing at least one of the fallen trees from the edge of the river (a waders job!) and see what else can be cut back when all the leaves are off and the vegetation has died back.
If any members of Cradley Heath Labour AC have time in the week and want to help out the Fisheries Team not just for Newhalls Meadow but all our fisheries get in touch and come and have some fun.
