Re: Cleeve Prior

I also looked at this venue for this Sunday as there are a lot of matches taking up quite a lot of stretches of the Avon this weekend. The forums suggest it is still a problem as is Stubbs pool itself and a quick look ar google maps shows a 'permanent' travelers site close by. Obviously only a minority of the travellers are looking trouble but its hard to say if they have moved on. I will probably fish elsewhere to be honest.

Re: River Levels

Still looking ok on the cameras but there is an awful lot of rain around sad
Weather warning in force today and tomorrow so it could be useless by Sunday which is when I can go. Fingers crossed its still fishable or its off to a still water again....

Re: Mythe

8lb 4 oz Nice Bream smiling
That would explain why is was no good from 4pm yesterday. Sound like its an early morning water. Have you had many tench out of there?

Re: Mythe

Comments can indeed be a little thin on the ground on this forum by the looks of it. I went to the Mythe yesterday and fished from 4pm unitl 9pm. Not even a bite! I tried feeder tactics, ledgering and float with all manner of baits but nothing.

I did see some small fish and the guy on the swim next to me told me that someone had a few tench out of there a week ago. He had caught one small bream after lunch and nothing after that. The other anglers there also did not appear to be catching. I am told Tench and Bream are the main species - there is the odd carp but not that many by the sounds of it. Not sure what the BAA policy is on stocking but maybe it needs a few more fish popped in to liven things up a bit in it as even the rivers generally give up a fish or two?

The first few swims nearest the car park seemed to be very weedy at present- tried a feeder and was coming back with half the pool on it each time!

No doubt its a very hard water so if you do give it a go timing and location may be key (Tench are often early risers).

Re: Mythe

Likewise, interested to hear how it's fishing.
