Re: Uckinghall & Mythe

Perhaps I will give the Mythe a go then soon. It did look like a nice lake even when it was in flood.

Re: Uckinghall & Mythe

Oh well. I will just have to fish another water tomorrow. To be fair I joined the BAA for the rivers. Would be nice to be able to fish the lakes in the close season though.

Re: Uckinghall & Mythe

I had a quick non-fishing visit to Uckinghall on the 19th as not fished there before and it looked 'ok'. The banks need some work in places though and many of the wooden pegs/jetty so are in need of repair. Looks like someone had a nice carp out of it a few days ago, but it remains to be seen how good the fish stocks are in there after some pretty severe flooding over the winter. I suspect some fish went into the Severn. I have heard rumours a lot of fish have been lost in is lake over the last few years, hopefully just rumours sad

The Mythe I have not checked out since the floods, it was bad when I went in Jan. similarly I guess some fish have been lost to the river. The joys of having pools so close I guess.

Also had a walk down to Apperly pools last week, looks like these pools have been left to go in a big way. Very wild The banks were pretty unaccessable even now and lots of dead trees and snags in every swim. May be ok for a perch or two but be prepared to loose tackle!

Re: Coppice or Uckinghall

Fished coppice today. Very hard, had only two bites all day. Only one person caught out of 4 on the lake. Tried both float and bomb but no dice...

Re: Coppice or Uckinghall

Thanks for the update. The Mythe was pretty but not very fishable yesterday when I went to check it out.
