Re: River Severn Ribbesford 01-02-2017

The change of bait made all the difference then Ken. Sounds like you were fishing in difficult conditions. Can be a tough venue at the best of times, so well done mate.

Re: Fladbury section other side of bridge field section

9 of us were out between Xmas and new year at Barton. The only "decent" fish caught was a chub.
However, apart from that a couple of small rainbow trout put in an appearance. Very welcome on a frosty day.

Mini 20 AC 10/12/16 Newhalls, River Severn

1st M.Imrie 16lb 10oz
2nd M.Lacey 16lb 09oz
3rd A Lacey 10lb 10oz
4th D Evans 5lb 08oz

Water temperature was a respectable 8deg. Initially expecting the level to rise, it actually dropped by around 3 or 4 inches during the match. With good colour in the river we knew there was an opportunity for a few decent nets. The only issue was just how many snags a lot of the pegs were hiding. For a few the only option was to chuck a feeder. Either that, or crack on with the Xmas shopping. Stick or waggler was proving to be the best option if you could find a clear line to run the float through. There were around half a dozen pound plus roach caught on the day. However, a lot of time was wasted having to re tackle so weights could have been better. Thanks to The Old Beams public house for making us welcome before and after this Fur and Feather.

Re: Mini 20 AC 26/11/16 Worc/Bham Canal 41-42

Yes mate, I spent about 3 hours on it. Caught for about 90 mins then nothing. Fed a few pinkies in with the feed and then had 2/3 small perch. It was tougher than usual for this stretch.

Mini 20 AC 26/11/16 Worc/Bham Canal 41-42

1st Rikki Richards 3lb 15oz
2nd Dennis Evans 1lb 2oz
3rd Mick Lacey 11oz
4th Keith Jones 9 oz

Water temp around 3 or 4 degrees was probably why this was a struggle for bites.
The few pegs with cover from a tree or boat fared slightly better.
The winner had a good roach around 1lb but it was mostly small gudgeon and perch for the rest.
