Re: OMC Magic Stick

Just watched the video and I couldn't even see the device trigger on the fish that they caught.
Seems as though the device needs such a high fish pull force to trigger it, that the fish would have bolt rig self hooked hooked before triggering.

I agree that any fixed bolt rig that breaks can leave the fish tethered.

Re: EVESHAM FESTIVAL

Thanks for the info Bin.
I popped along and ended up with a headache walking through the top meadow. I bet the anglers loved it - Sweet Caroline, bum, bum, bum!
As a pro at this stuff, do you know what set of rules they are meant to fish the matches to please and any deviations?

Re: What can people tell me about the fishing at 'Fladbury Below' please?

Re: b.a.a. d’anglers match 2 of 5 @ Ladyham - Saturday 16th September

Hi Reg - I wish everyone good luck at Ladyham but unfortunately I'm pre-booked on a match at Fladbury (that we've been talking about).

Just a couple of observations and suggestions for positive improvement and all said with the best intentions...

1) in view of what happened at the last match, It may be a good idea for the 'peggers' to have the pegs.
2) the scales or the tare is not suitable for low weights. I had a perch that I estimate to be 1.5oz that read zero. The 'weighers' at the last match can confirm.
3) we were told last time that we had to follow the bye-laws, but the pegs turned out to be 'plastic like' (but I could be mistaken). I think that they're meant to be something without pointy corners that would rot in the environment if lost (such as wood/card).

Tight - lines!

Re: What can people tell me about the fishing at 'Fladbury Below' please?

JC - many thanks for your detailed reply. I think there's only expected to be 14 turn up, so maybe enough pegs to leave out the cabbage patch.

So, no mention of bream pegs by anyone sad . I realise that you can't guarantee anything in fishing, but would you be inclined to bias your fishing towards barbel on the bottom pegs or are they just not caught frequently enough on any particular pegs to make it worth trying on a match?
