Great news - the BAA have been listening to members and implementing suggestions.

A couple of years back I used to receive a posted letter from the BAA inviting me to renew my membership.

So I added a suggestion to one of the threads in hope of saving the BAA some of these admin/postal cost. I suggested sending out an early email to encourage the existing members to re-apply without the need for the BAA to incur the cost of the invite letter & postage. You could always send out a letter a week or so later for the people that hadn't acted on the email.

The suggestion was met with part positive support, plus the usual negative, claiming that not everyone reads their emails etc. My thought is that whilst It may not work 100% for everyone, It would work for some people, but definitely wouldn't work for anyone if they didn't try it at all. If just 50% responded without posting a letter it result in some saving.

Today (2 years later), I have indeed received a renewal email. Shame that the system doesn't know that I've already renewed, but hopefully they are going in the right direction with more positive outcomes on the way.

Well done grin

Re: Bins Bins

Oops - I had no idea and really put my foot in it there - sorry!

I'd seen adverts for 'drive safe' & blue digital anti reflection coatings etc. I wondered if you had discovered something similar that helped avoid glare without changing the colour of everything to different shades of brown or grey (if you know what I mean)!

Would I buy a pair? I probably would have when a was a teenager and hoped to be the next James Bond!

Bins Bins

Hi Bin

If you noticed me staring into your eyes a few weeks back there's nothing to worry about. I'd noticed that your lenses were very 'blue'/reflective. I expect they were issued by secret service and you can see all beautiful women nude and fish to 20ft deep in dirty water!

Seriously though, I've had Polaroid's that were good for glare, but they reduced float visibility, so I was wondering if your lens coating is something you've found particularly good for glare whilst not reducing the visibility of a float, or maybe they're just to look cool in clubs?

Re: b.a.a. forum d’anglers AC an EXTRA Contest Date Saturday 13th April 2024

Thanks Reg.

I did spot a gap in the calendar that many clubs book following the abolishment of the still water closed season, so I think it's a great opportunity.

Unfortunately It's my daughters wedding and my wife (Mindy) says I have to be there to see where my £20k went!

I dropped my mate a link (SteveT that came last time) and he's got a new login in and already put his name down.

Good luck to you all, and thanks to everyone that helps run the club - your efforts are much appreciated!

Hi Reg

Dropping the Mrs to work, so probably not get there until after the meet up time around 8:20 ish.
Is that Ok and i'd just miss some top secrets & banter before the 8:30 draw?

I note the section was booked for a match yesterday (21st Oct). Anyone know how it went (weights, baits etc) please?
